SA COVID-19 Recoveries now at 59,5% of Total Infections

South Africa has now recorded 265,077 recoveries which translates to 59,5% of the total infections in the country.

The Health Department has also announced that the number of COVID-19 infections in South Africa has risen to 445,433.

This is an increase of 11,233 from Saturday’s announcement.

The number of deaths has also increased by 114 bringing the total to 6,769.

Gauteng has the most infections with 160,154 followed by Western Cape at 92,079, Eastern Cape at 73,585, KwaZulu-Natal 64,061, Free State 16,482, North West 17,338, Mpumalanga 11,008, Limpopo 7,076, Northern Cape 3,600 and unallocated infections 50.

Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize says the total number of COVID-19 tests conducted to date is 2,773,778 this is an increase of 42,966 which were done in the last 24 hours.

“Regrettably, we report a further 114 COVID-19 related deaths: 7 from Eastern Cape, 29 from Gauteng, 12 from KwaZulu Natal, 30 from Western Cape, 34 from Limpopo and 2 from the Northern Cape. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 6,769.”

Mkhize has expressed his condolences to the affected families of those who have succumbed to the pandemic.
