12-Year Old Lenasia Boy Kidnapped

A 12-year old boy was abducted outside his home in Wagtail Street, Extension 1 in Lenasia, South of Johannesburg.

Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said the boy was abducted on Friday afternoon when he returned home from school.

“A person later called the parents and demanded thousands of rands in ransom. The whereabouts of the boy are still unknown.”

A source close to the family told Radio Islam the parents of the boy are extremely distraught by the abduction of their son.

“The family are working with the police who are negotiating with the kidnappers for the safe return of their son,” the source said.

The family of the boy has appealed to anyone with information to come forward.
