Residents in Gauteng say they woke up to what felt like a tremor on Friday morning.
It is understood the tremor was felt just after 6:30am.
People in many areas including Lenasia, Northcliff, Germiston and Midrand among other areas say they felt the ground shake for a few seconds.
According to Volcano Discovery, the tremor was a magnitude of about 3.5 on the Richter Scale.
No reports of any damages or injuries have been reported.
