The City Of Johannesburg’s executive mayor, Mpho Phalatse visited the Lenasia civic center on Wednesday to kickstart her #GoldenConnection mayoral tour.

She began by engaging with Region G municipality and entity personal where she stressed that the politics in council would not affect the service delivery in the city.

“It’s great to be back in office and on the ground not because of the privileges but the ability to serve,” she said.

Adding: “With the multi party government in charged the money will go to where it is meant to go.”

Phalatse was ousted during a motion of no confidence last month, however she took the battle to court and emerged victorious. She was reinstated as mayor a few weeks ago.

Following her engagement with the city staff, Phalatse had a walkabout with MEC’s and media personnel to the different facilities within the civic center such as the library, clinic and taxi rank where she heard the gaps in the departments operating in the region.

“We will be fast tracking some of the issues that we are picking up here today and resolutions,” says Phalatse.

She concluded her visit in Lenasia at the newly built taxi rank which will be operational by early 2023.
