Democratic Alliance (DA) & Lenasia Ward 9 councilor Kishore Badal has resigned.

According to reports in the Rising Sun, Badal resigned from his post on Tuesday.

Badal joined the DA Joburg Caucus in 2016, and served the residents of Ward 9.

He also lent support to residents of Ward 8, 10 and 120 and was the chairperson of the DA Constituency in Lenasia and the surrounding areas.

DA Caucus Leader Leah Knott thanked Badal for his services to the community.

“We wish Cllr Badal all the best in his future endeavours, and thank him for his commitment to the Joburg residents. His dedication to residents within Ward 9 will be remembered.”

The party says it will continue its mandate to deliver service to the people of Johannesburg.

In recent weeks, the Lenasia community and surrounds have been overwhelmed by an abundance of power outages, illegal land grabs and general service delivery issues that have left residents frustrated and fuming.
