Notorius Former underworld gang figure Rashied Staggie has been shot dead in Cape Town.

It’s understood the 58-year-old Hard Livings gang leader was gunned down in Salt River on Friday morning.

Staggie was jailed for 15 years for his role in the kidnapping and rape of a 15-year-old girl in 2003.

Staggie’s twin brother, Rashaad was shot and set alight by a vigilante group People Against Gangsterism and Drugs (PAGAD) in 1996.

The police’s Novela Potelwa says they are investigating the shooting.

“The old man died on arrival at a nearby hospital. Information at the disposal of the police indicates that the deceased was sitting in his vehicle when two unknown suspects emerged, fired several shots an fled on foot.”

Staggies shooting comes a day after Hard Livings leader Ballie Tips was shot dead in Mitchells Plain.
