Hamas Leader Khalid Mish’al Visits South Africa

The African National Congress has announced that the Chairman of the Political Bureau of Hamas Khalid Mish’al, will lead a delegation of Hamas’ Central Committee to South Africa commencing today, 18 October 2015.

The Central Committee is Hamas’ political and decision making body is visiting South Africa to engage with the leadership of the African National Congress on the party’s shared vision of self-determination for the Palestinian people and a free, independent and sovereign state of Palestine liberated from Israeli occupation.

During the visit the CEC of Hamas will also meet with components of the Alliance and various civil society and solidarity organisations.

The programme of Hamas visit will be outlined to members of the media in a briefing to be addressed by the ANC and Hamas on Monday at Luthuli House in Johannesburg.
