JMPD Monitor Lenasia South Protest

Police are monitoring the scene of a protest in Lenasia South.

Residents have blocked off roads with rocks and burning tyres this morning.

Its understood residents are protesting over their dissatisfaction over the local councillor.

The JMPD’s Wayne Minnaar says police are on the scene.

“There are protests at the moment at Sheffield Road and Provincial Road that links with the Golden Highway. Motorists from Lenasia South are advised to make use of the old Lawley road as an alternative route.”
