Kagiso In Chaos

By Abu Muhammad

There was chaos in Kagiso Township on Thursday morning. Residents began rounding up foreign nationals.

At least one man is known to have died.

All of this is in the aftermath of gang rapes that were carried by the Zama Zama illegal miners at  a Krugersdorp mine dump.

Radio Islam spoke to Colonel Athlenda Mathe, who stated the following:

  • Various units of SAPS have been on the ground when the news broke of violence in the area.
  • Police tactical teams have gone in wholes where Zama Zama’s have been residing
  • The Deputy National Commissioner and Provisional Commissioner have met community members
  • Police intervened timeously when community members accosted a group of Zama Zamas
