Large Parts of JHB Without Power

City power says its teams have been deployed to a substation in Fordsburg where a trip has left several areas in Joburg without electricity. In a statement, City Power says the trip happened on Eskom’s side in the early hours of Saturday morning, but it’s not year clear what caused the fault. Several suburbs including Lenasia, Central Johannesburg, Eldorado Park, Riverlea and Braamfontein have been left without supply.

City Power has appealed to customers saying the power outage it not related to load shedding. City Power has not provided an estimated time of restoration of power supply saying technicians working with Eskom are expected to determine the cause of the fault and do repairs.
