Lenasia House Break-In Leaves Family Traumatized!

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News, 2014-12-06

Three armed men broke into a home in Nightingale Avenue in Lenasia, South of Johannesburg in the early hours of Friday morning leaving the family traumatized

According to a member of the family, there was no forced entry by the suspects through the back door of the home.

“They put a gun to my fathers head asked him who else was in the house and told him and my mother not to scream. They then tied up my father and mother and started ransacking the home.”

The family member who spoke to Radio Islam said one of the suspects went to the other bedrooms of the home and tied him and his sister up as well.

The suspects fled on foot with Jewelry and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police have opened a case of armed robbery and are investigating.

In recent weeks, Lenasia has seen a spike in crime.

On the 24th of November, a businessman was robbed outside the Absa Bank in Lenasia while on the 21st November, the aunt of Radio Islam presenter Muhammad Kara was brutally assaulted and on the 14th of November, a 68-year-old woman was mercilessly murdered in Zinnia Street, Extension 3. The elderly woman’s throat was slit.
