Lenasia police have urged residents to take precaution after yet another shooting, this time at the Trade Route Mall taxi rank.

Police say they received a complaint of the shooting incident on Sunday after a scuffle between two armed men and a taxi queue marshall.

The police’s Bafana Ndimande says they are investigating a case of attempted murder.

Ndimande says the motive for the shooting is unknown.

“The two males were armed with firearms and shot twice on the air. They shot a male estimated to be 41 years old twice on the chest and neck. The victim was rushed to Ahmed Kathrada Lenmed Hospital for treatment.”

Ndimande has urged anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects to contact the police
