Limpopo Police Launch Manhunt After Woman & Two-Year-old Found Murdered at a Lodge

Police have launched a manhunt for a suspect who a allegedly murdered a woman and a two-year-old child at a Lodge along the R518 near Masodi village in Limpopo.

It’s understood a man and a woman with a two year old child were dropped off at the gate of the lodge by on Tuesday by an a grey unknown motor vehicle.

The trio rented a room for overnight accommodation without providing their personal information with the intension of checking out the next day.

The police’s Moatshe Ngoepe says the receptionist went to check on the visitors the next morning and made the grim discovery.

“Upon arrival, the receptionist was shocked to discover a woman in her twenties and the toddler strangled to death with their hands tied from the back and their bodies being in a state of decomposition. Furthermore, there was no presence of the male who came to the lodge with the two deceased.”

Ngoepe says the motive behind this incident is not clear at this stage but domestic violence may not be ruled out.

“The deceased are reported to have no identification and are still unknown but the Police investigations are currently underway to identify and locate their family.”

Ngoepe has appealed to anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect believed to be in his thirties to come forward.
