Faizel Patel – 19/07/2021

A Hajji performing hajj during 1442/2021 says spending the day on the plains of Arafah has been an incredible experience.

Suhail Mank was speaking to Radio Islam from the plans of Arafah on the 9th of Thul Hijjah in Makkah.

Hujjaj are making their way to the plains of Muzdalifah where they will pick up pebbles and prepare for the pelting of the Jamarat in Mina, which is also the day of Eid-ul-Adha in Saudi Arabia.

Only sixty thousand Saudi citizens were allowed to perform hajj this year as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hosts the second downscaled hajj following the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to the Health Ministry, none of the Hujjaj have been infected with the Coronavirus, a testament that the Kingdom is doing an incrediblly well in keeping the Hujjaj safe.

Mank says the day of Arafah is a once in lifetime experience.

“Today has been an incredible experience. The day started of by moving from Mina to Arafat and the atmosphere when leaving from our tent in Arafat to Masjid Namira for the sermon was fantastic, it was electric. Everyone was reciting the talbiyah, there was a very positive atmosphere, we are all here asking Allah to forgive us, asking Allah for anything that we wish as it is a day of forgiveness.”

Earlier, the Imam of the Haram in Makkah in Saudi Arabia Sheikh Bandar Bin Abdulaziz Balila urged Muslims not to call on anyone besides Allah and that Allah is only to be worshipped in the way that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) told us to.

Sheikh Balila was rendering the Arafah Khutbah just before midday on Monday at Masjid Namira on the plains of Arafah in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

The theme of the Arafah khubah focused around the term of Ihsaan or human and was broadcast in ten languages across the globe.

Esteemed Islamic scholar Ml Sulaiman Moola provides an analysis of the theme of Ihsaan during the Khutbah.

“Ihsaan loosely translates as goodness, kindness, excellence. Of course he broke this up into different portions, verses, packs, hadeeth, etc. So that’s the overarching topic and theme if somebody wants to know what was the focus, what was the outlining issue in today’s address. In essence, be good, be noble, be excellent.”

Sheikh Balila urged Muslims to obey Allah and seek help from Him, adding that Allah Almighty will hold us accountable for every action we take, emphasising that Enmity and hatred should be eliminated.
