[LISTEN] Excitement in Palestine as Masjid-Al-Aqsa to Open for Ramadan & More with Hafez Ebrahim Moosa on the Palestine Report

Faizel Patel – 12/04/2021

The Palestine Information Network’s (PIN) Hafez Ebrahim Moosa says the blessed month of Ramadan is likely to start in Palestine on Monday night depending on the moon sighting and other factors.

Hafez Moosa was speaking to Radio Islam on Monday during the Palestine Report.

Hafez Moosa says unlike last year where Masjid-Al-Aqsa was closed during the blessed month of Ramadan, this this year it will be open.

“It’s going to be open to all and the word from the Waqf is that there’s going to be no number restrictions. Perhaps we’ll have to see how that plays out in practice. The Waqf has on the one side encouraged worshippers and visitors to Masjid-Al-Aqsa to vaccinate.”

Hafez Moosa says there was also a major pre-Ramadan cleanup ahead of the great month with over ten thousand people from sixty cities involved in the project.

“Overall we can see there’s a lot of excitement this year compared to last year for a kind of normal Ramadan. But that definitely overshadowed by COVID in West Bank, there’s going to be a curfew from 8pm to 6am to prevent huge social gatherings ifthar’s.”

Hafez Moosa says any Ramadan will never be normal under Israeli occupation of Palestine.
