The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has condemned flyers promoting racist Ku Klux Klan (KKK) ideology

Cair’s Ibrahim Hooper was speaking to Radio Islam on Wednesday from Washington DC about the flyers which were found outside dozens of homes in Newport Beach and Costa Mesa in California.

According to KABC/7, the flyers placed in plastic bags and weighted with a rock, featured an image of a hooded figure riding a hooded horse, holding a burning cross.

The flyer was titled “Loyal White knights of the ku klux klan,” with the subtitle “Fighting For The White Race.”

Hooper says promotional items of the KKK in plastic bags is a common phenomena.

“They put their propaganda materials in plastic bags and sometime they’ll put candies with it, sometimes they’ll put rocks, anything to weight it down. They drive through the neighbourhood and they throw them out onto people’s driveways and onto their lawn and that’s their form of communication.”

Hooper says Cair condemns the promotion of racist propaganda.

“We’ve issued multiple statements, this is just the latest. It happened to be in the Los Angeles area, Orange County. But we’ve condemned this when it occurs in states around the country. By the way, Orange County is kind of known as a conservative area, so maybe that’s why they have been targeted.”

Hooper also shared updates about the US house adoption of the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) bill; the Uighur Muslim rights rally in front of the Chinese embassy and a positive Muslim story.
