[LISTEN] Ml Ebrahim Bham: “Hazrat Mufti Taha Karaan was Humility Personified”

Faizel Patel – 11/06/2021

Tributes continue to pour in for Marhoom Mufti Taha Karan from South Africa and across the globe.

The esteemed and renowned Mufti Karaan sadly passed away on Friday after a long illness.

Before his passing, Mufti Karaan fulfilled his amanah as Mufti of the Muslim Judicial Council (MJC) with distinction, a responsibility he accepted after the passing on of his beloved father and former Mufti of the MJC Ml Yusuf Karaan in 2015.

The heartbroken Secretary General of the Jamiatul Ulama South Africa Ml Ebrahim Bham says Mufti Karan was a library of knowledge who has been lifted from our midst.

“Many have realized the academic genius and the academic greatness of Hazrat Mufti Taha Karaan. Ulama who sat in his discourses would find it hard to believe that a mortal could possess such great knowledge and had such a great memory.”

Ml Bham says Mufti Karaan was humility personified.

“Despite his greatness, if you say with him and you sat in his company you would be amazed by his humility in terms of his appearance, in terms of his approach, in terms of his coming across to you.”

Mufti Karaan’s Janazah took place in his hometown of Strand in the Western Cape .
