The Religious Attaché of Saudi Arabia will be distributing more than ten tons of dates to Muslims across South Africa during the blessed month of Ramadan.

The initiative is part of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman gift program.

During Ramadan, Muslims throughout the world usually break their fast with a date or a glass of water.

Speaking to Radio Islam, Saudi Arabia’s Religious Attaché’s Mohammad Ashour says dates are distributed on an annual basis during the great month of Ramadan.

“Our King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and his Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman, every year they send dates to every Muslim country and all the Muslim people in the world. This year they sent ten tons of dates to South Africa, to Muslim people by gift.”

Ashour says the Religious Attaché will also be initiating another program where they will be distributing food to the needy in South Africa and other countries.

Ashour has wished all Muslims in South Africa and throughout the world a blessed Ramadan and made dua that Allah lifts the COVID-19 pandemic from the world.

“I say Insha’Allah everything will be okay in the future and this pandemic will be gone Insha’Allah. I also want to thank our Minister Sheikh Abdul Latif Al Shaikh and our ambassador Sultan al Angari, they do a lot of programs.”

Ashour also indicated that there may be a possibility that Haramain Imam’s from Saudi Arabia will  visit South Africa once the Coronavirus pandemic subsides.
