Lenasia police are investigating a case of murder after a man was killed in an apparent case of mob justice at the Precast Informal Settlement.

Police say they arrived on scene and found a man lying on the floor in his shack on Sunday.

Spokesperson Bafana Ndimande has urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the police.

“The victim sustained head injuries and he was certified dead by the paramedics, who were already at the crime scene. The motive of the murder is unknown at this stage. The pathologists were summoned to the crime scene and they transferred the deceased to Diepkloof Mortuary.”

Ndimande has urged the community to be vigilant at all times and report any criminal activities to the police as the country enters the festive period.
