Police have confirmed the body of a 62-year-old businessman has been found near an industrial area in Nelspruit.

Mahomed Rafick Vally was reported missing on Tuesday by his family.

Police say a search ensued and Vally’s silver Mercedes Benz station wagon was found early this morning.

Spokesperson Mtxholi Bhembe says the circumstances surrounding the incident is being investigated.

“The members of the family joined the community members who went to the police station to report and then a search was then instituted until the early hours of today located the vehicle there. The car veered off the road and went into a ditch. We opened a missing person inquiry. If there is no foul play then we are going to open an inquiry. If there is foul play, we definitely going to open a murder case.”

Bhembe has urged anyone with information to contact the police.
