Mkhize Urges Elderly South Africans Over 63 to take Extra Precautions Against COVID-19

With over 6,336 infections in South Africa, the health department says hypertension, diabetes and cardiac disease are the three most common core morbidities associated with serious illness from COVID-19.

Seven more people have died due to the virus taking the total death toll to 123.

South Africa recording its single day jump in infections to date after 385 new cases were logged in the past 24 hours.

Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize has urged elderly South Africans over 63-years of age and those with existing diseases to take extra precaution.

As South Africa moves into day 3 of Level 4 lockdown regulations, the COVID-19 pandemic has so far claimed the lives of 16 Muslims of the 123 people that have died in the country.
