The case against a 29 year old man arrested in connection with the murder of his 20-year-old partner and nine-month old baby girl at a lodge in Limpopo has been postponed until the 29th of January for a formal bail application.

Mohammad Nasir appeared before the Mokerong Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

It’s understood Nasir, his partner Chantelle Ester Ash and their daughter Tasneem Isha were dropped off at the gate of the lodge last week by a grey unknown motor vehicle.

The trio rented a room for overnight accommodation without providing their personal information with the intension of checking out the next day.

The receptionist went to check on the visitors the next morning and made the grim discovery of their bodies being in a state of decomposition.

The police’s Moatshe Ngoepe says Nasir has been remanded in custody until the bail hearing.

“The suspect was arrested at Brixton in the Gauteng province. The motive behind this incident is still not clear at this stage but domestic violence may not be ruled out.”

Ngoepe says police investigations are still underway.
