Moroccan Cyclist Humbled After South Africans Open Their Hearts

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 04-06-2018

A Moroccan man whose bike was stolen from the Jefferys Bay Masjid in the Eastern Cape, will be mobile again soon following the generosity of South Africans.

Radio Islam and Salaamedia have been inundated with calls following the theft of the 34-year-olds bike in the small coastal town on 1 June.

Yassine Ghallam whose desire is to travel the world on two wheels has already ridden more than 23,500km from Morocco through African countries on the west coast to reach South Africa at the beginning of May.

Radio Islam travel presenter Muhammad Lambat says despite Ghallam’s misfortune, he is humbled by the generosity of South Africans who’ve open their hearts to assist him.

“All his requirements are now sorted. Jazak’Allah to Arshad from Solomon Cycle who sponsored the bike and many of our generous listeners who contributed to his onward journey to tour the world, may Allah make it easy for him.”
