Narans Farm Residents in Lenasia South Demand Paul Mashatile Fulfill Promises

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 13-07-2017

Residents of Narans Farm on the K43 near Lenasia South say they will continue to protest until ANC Gauteng chairperson Paul Mashatile addresses their grievances.

The residents have blocked the K43 with rocks and burning tyres this morning over service delivery issues.

This resident says they will not move until Mashatile comes to the area to see the conditions they are living in.

He says they also want the speed limit on the K43 to be reduced after a child was apparently killed by a speeding motorist.

“We want Paul Mashatile must come down so he can fulfill his promises. Even this road, this road is killing us. We don’t have houses, we don’t have anything. We’ve been here more than 40 years.”

The JMPD’s Wayne Minnaar has advised motorists to use alternate routes as the road remains barricaded.
