Police Investigating Murder Case after Elderly Man Found Dead at Lenasia Home

Police are investigating a case of murder after an elderly man was found dead at his home in Lenasia.

Police say they received a request for assistance at Penguin Avenue on Saturday and on arrival at the scene, they rang the door bell at the man’s home but there was no response.

Spokesperson Bafana Ndimande says on entering the home, police discovered the body of the man lying on the floor.

Ndimande says the motive for the murder is being investigated.

“The kitchen door was open and they entered the house, and there was no one inside. They proceeded outside the house and found an adult Indian male lying on the ground who was later known to be the owner of the house. The victim was tied on the neck, hands and feet with wires.The paramedics were summoned to the crime scene and certified the victim dead.”

Ndimande has urged anyone with information about the murder to contact the police.
