Lenasia police are investigating a case of murder after a man was shot dead at the Thembelihle Informal settlement.

It is understood the man was killed on Friday night at a tavern following a scuffle.

The police’s Bafana Ndimande says investigations are continuing.

“The officers saw an unknown African male lying on the ground. The paramedics were summoned to the crime scene and they declared the victim dead with a gunshot wound on the upper body. The pathologists transferred the deceased to Diepkloof Government Mortuary.”

Ndimande has appealed to the community to assist police with information that may lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
