Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 12-03-2018

Radio Islam International has officially launched its Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) focus.

Organised by Palestinian lobby group BDS, the 14th Israel Apartheid Week Under the theme ‘Afro-Palestinian solidarity’ this year takes place from the 12 to 18 March.

IAW aims to highlight the plight of Palestinians under the oppression of the Israel.

Endorsed in South Africa by over 110 organizations, is an international series of self-organized rallies, protests, lectures, cultural performances, concerts, sports events, films and workshops held annually in over 250 cities, communities and campuses across the globe.

Radio Islam’s Mufti Moosagie says the station has an intense line-up for IAW.

“We are going to have a variety of interviews, including highlighting facts about the Palestinian struggle and draw comparisons between Apartheid South Africa and Apartheid Israel.”

Some of the speakers during IAW include Syrian American journalist Maytha Alhassen and Palestinian-American journalist, activist, media-analyst, author and co-founder of the widely acclaimed and award-winning online publication The Electronic Intifada amongst others.
