Radio Islam Making Waves in Durban

After months of hard work, Radio Islam International has finally launched and opened its new studios in KwaZulu-Natal.

Located at Crescent Towers opposite Masjid Hilaal in Overport, the state of the art facility was officially opened on Saturday with a live broadcast by a number of Radio Islam’s presenters.

Programmes manager Moulana Sulaiman Ravat says Radio Islam offers curated content that serves as a daily Imaan refresher for thousands of listeners.

“Taking contemporary realities and contexualising them – most critically, from an authentic Islamic perspective which is a valuable complement to the traditional Islamic community institutions.”  

Prominent media personalities and Ulama which included social cohesive activist and former head of news at Eyewitness News Yusuf Abramjee, SA FM’s Ashraf Garda, iTV CEO Farhad Omar, renowned scholar Moulana Sulaiman Moola amongst many others also conveyed their wishes to Radio Islam.

Abramjee: “I am a big fan of Radio Islam. They are doing wonderful work and play a critical role in keeping listeners updated.”

Omar: “iTV & Radio Islam have always worked well together. They have filled the void to and providing Islamic content.”

Garda: “The Islamic ethos of Radio Islam and the growth of Radio Islam has been phenomenal. What has impressed me is Radio Islam’s ability to discuss issues that are not only relevant to Muslims but everyone. Radio Islam has entrenched itself and has become a voice of Muslim media.

Ml. Moola: “To get an honesty in media today is rare, but Radio Islam is making inroads & may Allah bless them Insha’Allah.”

Among the plethora of callers and visitors to the new studios, one listener @admajee170 tweeted: “Waves aside..it was mre like a tsunami with da fantastic RadioIslam family crew mkn der presence felt in d new&impressive DBN office.”

Moulana Ravat also conveyed the appreciation and gratitude of management and the board of directors to the listeners and staff of Radio Islam for their support and dedication.

“We thank Allah SWT profusely for allowing us to realise this beautiful milestone of the inauguration of our new base in Kwazulu Natal. Radio Islam is grateful to all our team members and loyal listeners who strove hard for the realisation of this dream.”

Moulana Ravat concluded with a dua that Allah SWT crown this project with success, sincerity and acceptance and that it may be a powerful instrument for the preservation of Imaan.

Radio Islam urges our loyal listeners to visit our Joburg and new KZN studios, and interact with us, and to always remember us sincerely in your Duas that Allah takes ‘your learning station’ from strength to strength.
