Faizel Patel, 2016-04-29

At least 13 people have been killed and two others injured after a truck and taxi collided head-on on Randfontein Road in Randfontein.
It’s understood the taxi swerved into the oncoming truck this afternoon.

Paramedics say they found numerous bodies lying around on the scene that had been ejected from the taxi.

ER24’s Russel Meiring says the exact cause of the accident is being investigated.

“On assessment, paramedics discovered that 14 people had sustained fatal injuries in the collision. They were all declared dead on the scene. Two other patients were found on scene with serious injuries. They were treated and taken to hospital for further treatment.”

Mogale City’s Papi Motaung says the collision was the worst he had seen in his thirteen years of service.

The road was earlier closed due to the collision.
