School Children Killed in Horror Taxi Crash

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 21-04-2017

Twenty school children have died after the minibus taxi they were travelling in collided head-on with a truck.

The accident happened on the R25 between Verena and Bronkhorstspruit this afternoon.

Paramedics say they arrived on the scene to find the minibus taxi on fire with the school learners trapped inside.

ER24’S Russel Meiring says authorities were on scene to determine the exact cause of the accident.

“Once the flames had been extinguished, paramedics found the children lying trapped inside the vehicle. Unfortunately nothing could be done for the children and they were declared dead on the scene.”

The Gauteng Transport Department says their thoughts and prayers are with the families of the young learners killed in the crash.
