Shooting At Trade Route Mall Leaves Two Wounded

Feb 17, 2022

By Umamah Bakharia

This morning, two men were shot and wounded at the Trade Route Mall in Lenasia.

The event transpired around 6:43 am this morning when the victim was proceeding towards the underground parking at the gym.

According to Lethal Force’s Shahim Ismail, a man in an Audi vehicle was waiting for the victim and fired 4 shots at him.

“It’s like they awaiting each other, they [the victim and the shooter] definitely knew each other,” says Ismail.

A man on foot then proceeded towards the injured victim, to which he was also shot. The shooter then fled the scene in the Audi and left the two men at the scene.

“There was no attempted robbery or an attempted hijacking,” says Ismail.

Saaberie Chisty ambulance services have confirmed that the men were handed over to them to be transported to the hospital and are being treated for moderate injuries.

This is a developing story.
