Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 18-04-2017

One man has been killed and five others injured after an apparent armed robbery at the Emerald casino resort in Vanderbijlpark.

Two security guards who tried to stop the gang of about eleven were wounded during the shootout last night night.

Er24’s Werner Vermaak says authorities were on the scene for further investigations.

“Upon closer inspection, paramedics found the body of a man lying outside the entrance. Unfortunately, the man had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and showed no signs of life nothing could be done for the man and he was declared dead on the scene.”

Vermaak says Paramedics treated the injured patients and thereafter transported them to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

Officers found three abandoned vehicles, which were used in the crime as getaway cars.

The police’s Mavela Masondo says they are searching for the suspects.
