Thulani Manqoyi, a teacher at the Heinz Park Primary school in Philippi, Cape Town, was shot several times in his motor vehicle in the school parking lot.

One of Manqoyis colleagues says that the students and staff members at the school are in shock and disbelieve that an incident like this could occur on the school premises.

Two men were seen fleeing the scene after the shooting.
Manyoqis colleague said that by the time he arrived at the school, the incident had already happened. A few people who checked on him said that he was still breathing after the shooting, but when the paramedics arrived, he was declared dead.

Students of the 6th-grade math teacher say that he was a very loving and kind-hearted teacher, always concerned for his learners and colleagues.

The motive behind this shooting remains unclear at this moment.
