Police are searching for three suspects involved in an armed robbery at the Trade Route Mall in Lenasia. The incident occurred around noon today, with the robbers targeting a PEP Cell store located next to the Pick n Pay outlet within the mall.

According to Shahim Ismail of Lethal Forces, three bravo gentlemen entered the PEP Cell store as regular customers and suddenly left in a hurry. Upon noticing the odd behaviour of the suspects, a guard on duty at the time approached the suspects and began to investigate.

One of the suspects then pointed a firearm at the guard, to which he responded by taking cover and calling for backup, ensuring a chase.  A bag of cell phones was recovered. No injuries or gunshots were reported and no arrests have been made.

A case of robbery has been opened in an ongoing investigation by SAPS Lenasia, and an arrest is expected soon.
