Trump: “COVID-19 Greatest Attack on America, Worse than Pearl Harbor & 9/11”

US President Donald Trump the COVID-19 pandemic is the greatest attack on America.

Trump made the remarks in his latest briefing where he also made an about turn on his earlier decision to end the White House virus task force.

The earlier plan had received widespread criticism and Trump explained his reversal by saying he had no idea how popular the task force was.

The task force currently reports to the president and coordinates with medical institutes, political staff and state governors.

It also consults medical experts to formulate national guidelines and social distancing.

The US has one third of all confirmed COVID-19 cases globally and more than 73,000 deaths, which is double the number of any other country.

Trump criticized China over the global coronavirus pandemic saying it is the greatest attack on America.

“This is worse than Pearl Harbor, this is worse than the World Trade Centre. There’s never been an attack like this and it should’ve never happened. It could’ve been stopped at the source, it could’ve been stopped in China.”

While infections and death rates have plateaued, there is acute concern over a second wave should lockdown measures be lifted.
