Two people have been injured after an electrical transformer exploded in a parking lot of the Southgate shopping centre, south of Johannesburg.
Paramedics say they arrived on the scene this morning where they found the patients lying beside the transformer.
ER24’s Russel Meiring says the cause of the explosion if being investigated.
“On assessment, paramedics discover that the man had sustained burn wounds over most of his body, leaving him in a critical condition. A woman was found with moderate burns to her body. Once treated, the critically injured patient was airlifted by a private medical helicopter while the woman was transported by ambulance.”
