Two Suspects Caught with Explosives in Lenasia

Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 26-07-2017

Police have arrested two men in Lenasia after they were found in possession of explosives.

It’s understood members from the flying squad and Johannesburg Metro Police received a tip off that suspects driving a car on Rose Avenue were in possession of a bomb.

It’s unclear what the explosives were going to be used for.

The police’s Hector Netshivodza says the suspects have been charged with possession of explosives.

“The police stopped the car and asked to search the car. While they were busy searching the car, they found the rocket inside the car and they arrested the two suspects who are between 34 and 42 years old.”

Netshivodza says the suspects are expected to appear in the Lenasia Magistrates Court tomorrow.
