Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison says Western Sydney is now the greatest concern from the worst floods in decades to have ravaged Eastern Australia.

Parts of New South Wales have seen almost one meter of rain flooding hundreds of homes and severing roads.

Morrison is now warning of more rain and days of danger to come.

Speaking to Radio Islam, Australian media and communications expert Diana Bossio says the rain is continuing in New South Wales and Queensland.

“We’ve seen bridges collapsing and we’ve seen 18,000 people already evacuated from their homes. Now we have warnings of an additional 15,000 people that may need to be evacuated.”

Bossio says the rain has caused a lot of damage.

“There are massive water flows that are impacting dams and other water catchments which means that a lot of rivers, dams nd water catchments are going to burst causing fairly widespread damage in New South Wales and likely in Queensland as well.”

Health officials says the rain and floods will delay the already halting rollout of coronavirus vaccines in Sydney and surrounding areas.
