<\/span>I first met Aalimah Hasina at her mother\u2019s institution, Al Hudaa Foundation in Lenasia, Johannesburg. <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>The Al Hudaa Foundation itself has been a beacon of learning and service in the community, and it was there <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>that my own journey of seeking knowledge began. When she came to visit us, even before she became my teacher, <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>her warmth, humility, and sincerity stood out. I felt an immediate connection and did not know then how <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>profoundly she would change my life.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>When I arrived in South Africa from Luanda, Angola, I did not know a single word of English. I also did not <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>know even the basic Islamic rules. My journey as a student of <\/span>deen<\/span> began in uncertainty, but Allah placed <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>Aalimah Hasina in my path, and through her, my life was transformed.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>She was my Fiqh teacher for five years, and it is no exaggeration to say that everything I know today about <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>how to practice my <\/span>deen<\/span> correctly stems from her patient and tireless teaching. Even something as fundamental <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>as how to purify myself for salah \u2014 if I can clean myself for prayer today, it is because of her. She taught <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>with such clarity, care, and repetition that <\/span>the knowledge<\/span> became part of me, and to this day, I carry her <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>lessons into my daily acts of worship.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>But her teaching was not limited to textbooks or rulings. Through her words and her example, she shaped my <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>character and my outlook on life. There is one statement of hers that I will never forget, and that I now teach <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>to my own children: \u201cYou eat what you get, you don\u2019t complain, and you make <\/span>shukar<\/span> to Allah.\u201d This simple but <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
<\/span>profound advice has stayed in my heart all these years, reminding me and my family to live with gratitude and <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span>
