This step is where the magic begins.<\/p>\n<p>Whisk your egg whites with \u00bd teaspoon baking powder until they become light, airy, and hold soft peaks. Set this aside \u2014 this is what will give your cake its beautiful lift.<\/p>\n<p>In another bowl, combine your cocoa powder, oil, and warm water. Mix until smooth and silky.<\/p>\n<p>Add in your caster sugar, flour, and vanilla essence, and beat until well combined. Then add your egg yolks and continue mixing until you have a rich, smooth batter.<\/p>\n<p>Stir in the remaining 2 teaspoons of baking powder.<\/p>\n<p>Now, gently fold in your whipped egg whites.
