{"id":107843,"date":"2026-08-31T10:44:32","date_gmt":"2026-08-31T08:44:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/?p=107843"},"modified":"2026-08-31T10:44:32","modified_gmt":"2026-08-31T08:44:32","slug":"a-divided-world-part-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/a-divided-world-part-1\/","title":{"rendered":"A Divided World &#8211; Part 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Muhammad \ufdfa: Humanity&#8217;s Compass in a Sea of Chaos<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Chaos Around Us<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>A Divided World &#8211; <\/strong><strong><em>When Differences Become Divisions<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Look around the world today and one thing becomes increasingly difficult to ignore:<\/p>\n<p><strong>We are living in a deeply divided world.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>People are divided by politics, race, nationality, wealth, ideology, religion and even by opinions on issues that once would never have separated communities.<\/p>\n<p>Social media has made it easier than ever to find people who think exactly like us \u2014 and easier than ever to attack those who don&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>We create our own circles, follow people who agree with us and sometimes begin to believe that anyone outside our circle must be wrong.<\/p>\n<p>And slowly, <strong>difference becomes division.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>But perhaps the greatest challenge isn&#8217;t that humanity is different.<\/p>\n<p>Humanity has always been different.<\/p>\n<p>The real problem is that we have forgotten <strong>how to live with our differences.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is where the example of Muhammad \ufdfa offers something profoundly relevant.<\/p>\n<p>When Muhammad \ufdfa began his mission, Arabia itself was deeply divided.<\/p>\n<p>Tribes were separated by centuries of rivalry. Social status determined how people were treated. The wealthy stood above the poor. The powerful could often impose their will on the vulnerable.<\/p>\n<p>Yet the Prophet \ufdfa brought together people who would previously have had little reason to see themselves as equals.<\/p>\n<p>He taught that a person&#8217;s worth was not determined by their tribe, wealth, nationality or social position.<\/p>\n<p>What mattered was <strong>character, righteousness and their relationship with Allah.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And perhaps that message is more relevant today than ever.<\/p>\n<p>Because we live in a world obsessed with labels.<\/p>\n<p>We ask:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Where are you from?<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>What group do you belong to?<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>What do you believe?<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Which side are you on?<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And sometimes, before we&#8217;ve even listened to someone, we&#8217;ve already decided what we think about them.<\/p>\n<p>But the Prophetic example teaches us to look beyond the label and <strong>see the human being.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>That doesn&#8217;t mean we have to agree with everyone.<\/li>\n<li>It doesn&#8217;t mean that differences don&#8217;t matter.<\/li>\n<li>It doesn&#8217;t mean that we abandon our principles simply to avoid disagreement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It means we learn the difference between <strong>disagreement and disrespect.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We can disagree without humiliating.<\/li>\n<li>We can challenge an idea without attacking a person&#8217;s dignity.<\/li>\n<li>We can hold firmly to our beliefs while still treating someone who thinks differently with fairness and compassion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And perhaps this is something the world desperately needs to relearn.<\/p>\n<p>Because what happens when every disagreement becomes personal?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Families stop speaking.<\/li>\n<li>Friendships end.<\/li>\n<li>Communities become fragmented.<\/li>\n<li>Societies become hostile.<\/li>\n<li>And eventually, we stop listening altogether.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Prophetic example shows us another possibility.<\/p>\n<p>Muhammad \ufdfa dealt with people who disagreed with him, opposed him and came from completely different backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>Yet he continued to uphold principles of justice, dignity and good character.<\/p>\n<p>He didn&#8217;t build unity by pretending that differences didn&#8217;t exist.<\/p>\n<p><strong>He built unity by teaching people how to rise above those differences.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And perhaps one of the most beautiful examples is the community he created in Madinah.<\/p>\n<p>People from different tribes, backgrounds and histories were brought together into a community with shared responsibilities and mutual rights.<\/p>\n<p>The message was powerful:<\/p>\n<p><strong>You don&#8217;t have to be identical to belong together.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And perhaps that&#8217;s another lesson from Muhammad \ufdfa:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Strong principles don&#8217;t require weak character.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You can stand for what you believe while remaining compassionate.<\/li>\n<li>You can disagree while remaining respectful.<\/li>\n<li>You can be firm without being cruel.<\/li>\n<li>And you can be different without becoming divided.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Perhaps this is what humanity needs today.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Not a world where everyone thinks the same.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>But a world where people can <strong>think differently and still treat one another with dignity.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Because diversity itself isn&#8217;t the chaos.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Our inability to handle diversity is.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Muhammad \ufdfa: Humanity&#8217;s Compass in a Sea of Chaos The Chaos Around Us A Divided World &#8211; When Differences Become Divisions Look around the world today and one thing becomes increasingly difficult to ignore: We are living in a deeply divided world.
