{"id":15447,"date":"2015-07-14T12:05:37","date_gmt":"2015-07-14T10:05:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2015\/07\/14\/chilling-out-chile-ml-suliman-jada-talks-islam-and-ramadaan-in-santiago\/"},"modified":"2015-07-14T12:05:37","modified_gmt":"2015-07-14T10:05:37","slug":"chilling-out-chile-ml-suliman-jada-talks-islam-and-ramadaan-in-santiago","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/chilling-out-chile-ml-suliman-jada-talks-islam-and-ramadaan-in-santiago\/","title":{"rendered":"Chilling out in Chile: Ml Suliman Jada talks Islam and Ramadaan in Santiago"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By Ejaz Khan<\/p>\n<p>Radio Islam\u2019s Mufti Moosagie spoke to Moulana Suliman Jada about Islam In Chile, with focus on Ramadaan.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>&#8220;At the moment very cold, Rain and even snow, The days are short days, but a fantastic atmosphere!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>In Santiago, Sehri ends at 7:20 am local time, Iftaar sets in at 6:45 PM\u00a0<br \/>In the further areas time changes, Sehri ends at 8:30 am\u00a0 4:45 Iftaar, really really short!&#8221;<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The differences between South Africa\u2019s Ramadaan experience compared to Chile:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cThe difference between our country and here in South America is that here people live very far from Masjids, so don\u2019t frequent as much\u2026But In Ramadaan people come from early and stay, coming from an hour and a half away coming for all the Salaahs\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Islam\u2019s growth in Chile:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201c15 Years ago , I can remember year, reading my 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0Taraweeh.<br \/>Today, alhamdulilah 110 People reading Taraweeh with us<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>There was no khatmul Quraan taking place, now they are multiple Khatmal Quraan, alhamdulilah.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On whether he misses home:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cNot really Homesick, I have adapted and grown accustomed to Life in Chile.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Yes of course miss the brothers, Parents, In-laws, all family and friends but we have lots of work to do here \u201c<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On what\u2019s Unique about Ramadaan in Chile:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>New muslims , they are really trying their best to create a Ramadaan atmosphere, sisters especially preparing so much, people who work are taking off early, sacrificing their wages to come to learn deen, all adds to the Ramadaan Vibe<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>On Eid Day festivities:<br \/><strong><em><br \/>\u201cNo Eidgaah here as Rain is a daily reality in this season , so we read at our Masjid.<br \/>15 years ago our masjid was empty, today it is gone small subhanallah.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Message to listeners and family in South Africa:<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cIn South Africa you are living in \u201cJannah\u201d..
