Radio Islam Programming \u2013 25 April 2017<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2018The Big Picture\u2019 falls part of Radio Islam\u2019s breakfast show, Sabaahul Muslim. The award-winning segment, which features Abu Bakr Dawjee (more commonly known as AB Dawjee) of KZN, airs on Friday mornings between 8 and 9 am.<\/p>\n

Dawjee gives the listeners an alternate perspective on various local and international issues that affects the Ummah. His ability to come across in a humorous yet thought provoking manner has made the feature a great success. With the main focus on politics, social issues are sometimes touched on when it affects the community.<\/p>\n

Being a man that travels often, AB Dawjee also shares his travel experiences with the listeners. The programme has now become a favourite for many of the Radio Islam listeners. To cap off his weekly feature, Dawjee always shares a few jokes at the end of the slot.<\/p>\n

In the latest edition of the segment, Dawjee shared some history on Bosnia, a country that he recently visited. He spoke about the country\u2019s historic war and the atrocities that its people have been through. He also focused on Bashaar Al Asad and his crimes against humanity (Syria). Mention was also made of US president Donald Trump. Even though AB\u2019s discussion on Trump made everyone laugh, it no doubt left all with something to think about.<\/p>\n

“Ever since the holocaust, we hear the empty words \u2018Never again\u2019; and then Ruwanda, and then Gaza, and now Sudan, and now Yemen and Syria\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIts past history saddened us, but Bosnia fascinated us. The shopping, the eating and the beauty of the people\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cMainstream media is biased and generally carries a narrative and perspective of the government in the West\u201d<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

\u201c(Regarding Trump) You know I am still shocked as to how a first class Laddoo* managed to take control of what is regarded as the most powerful office in the world\u2026”<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

*Laddoo \u2013 an indian sweetmeat often used to refer to someone that is foolish or insignificant.<\/span><\/p>\n
