Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 10-10-2017<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \n Social media site Twitter has confirmed it\u2019s planning to launch a bookmarking feature to save tweets for later reading.<\/p>\n The new addition will help users keep a separate list of items they want to refer back to, instead of using the heart (aka \u201cfavorite\u201d) button, which can indicate more of a \u201clike\u201d \u2013 similar to the \u201cthumbs up\u201d button on Facebook.<\/p>\n TecCrunch reports the feature\u2019s impending launch was first unveiled on Twitter itself when head of product Keith Coleman announced that a new way to save tweets was in the works, as a result of a company HackWeek project dubbed #SaveForLater.<\/p>\n Other Twitter employees, including newly hired senior director of product, Sriram Krishnan, and PM Jesar Shah, also noted Twitter\u2019s plans in this area.<\/p>\n Like Coleman, Shah said the feature was a popular user request \u2013 adding that many people, \u201cespecially in Japan,\u201d had asked for this ability.<\/p>\n Twitter isn\u2019t the first to realize that its constantly-updating feed needs a save button. Facebook, too, launched its own bookmarking tool several years ago.<\/p>\n A prototype built during HackWeek shows that Twitter\u2019s bookmarking feature appears under the tweet\u2019s \u201cMore\u201d menu (three dots), where you then find a new \u201cAdd to Bookmarks\u201d option. But this design could change by the time it\u2019s released to the public.<\/p>\n There are no details yet on how soon the new bookmarking tool will roll out or who will be able to test it.
