{"id":21508,"date":"2017-10-28T17:44:34","date_gmt":"2017-10-28T15:44:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2017\/10\/28\/whatsapp-rolls-new-delete-sent-messages-feature\/"},"modified":"2017-10-28T17:44:34","modified_gmt":"2017-10-28T15:44:34","slug":"whatsapp-rolls-new-delete-sent-messages-feature","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/whatsapp-rolls-new-delete-sent-messages-feature\/","title":{"rendered":"WhatsApp Rolls New &#8220;Delete Sent Messages&#8221; Feature"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News &#8211; 28-10-2017<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Social media and messaging app WhatsApp is now rolling out the ability to delete sent messages incase you made a mistake or sent an embarrassing message to a wrong person.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new feature called \u201cdelete for everyone\u201d is being added to the Android, iOS and Windows Phone versions of the app.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If a user sends a message they want to \u201cunsend\u201d or retract, they have seven minutes of being sent for it to work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When you \u201cunsend\u201d a message, the recipient will see a post that says: \u201cThis message was deleted.\u201d This means the recipient will know that a message was deleted, but they will not know what it said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The \u201cunsend\u201d feature works for attachments like photos, videos, GIFs, voice messages, among others.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To \u201cunsend\u201d a message on WhatsApp, you simply have to push down on it in the conversation and select the trash can icon from the menu. Then you have to tap on \u201cDelete for everyone\u201d to recall the message. After tapping on that option, the message will disappear on your device and the recipient\u2019s phone.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The message will also be removed from the Notification Center of the recipient as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">WhatsApp has also warned on its FAQ page that the sender and the recipient are required to have the latest version of the WhatsApp app downloaded on their devices.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cRecipients may see your message before it\u2019s deleted or if deletion was not successful.
