Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News – 10-11-2017<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n While many South Africans want to own the latest smartphones with all the newest features, they do come at a hefty price.\u00a0<\/p>\n However, there are alternative devices, like the OnePlus 5 smartphone, which is expected to retail for about R 12,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n Distributed by Cernotech, the same company that sells CAT phones, the OnePlus 5 will be available from the 15th<\/sup> of November.\u00a0<\/p>\n Customers can also get the device from FNB for R600\/month over 24 months.<\/p>\n Stuff Magazine SA reports, the OnePlus 5 features the Snapdragon 835 processor found in Samsung\u2019s S8\/S8+\/Note 8, LG\u2019s V30\/V30+, Sony\u2019s Xperia XZ Premium, the Nokia 8 and the forthcoming Essential Phone.<\/p>\n It also includes a whopping 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage (a 64GB version is offered elsewhere, but won\u2019t be available in South Africa).\u00a0<\/p>\n The device device features a dual camera setup of a 20MP and 16MP sensor, one with a regular field of view and one telephoto. \u201cPro mode\u201d gives users control over features like white balance, shutter-speed, ISO and exposure compensation and the option to shoot images in RAW.<\/p>\n Buyers can also look forward to Dash Charge, OnePlus\u2019s high-speed charging tech that promises a working-day\u2019s charge in half an hour from the\u00a03300mAh battery, and the company\u2019s custom take on the Android operating system, called\u00a0OxygenOS.\u00a0<\/p>\n Next week OnePlus will be unveiling its latest device, the OnePlus 5T in New York City.\u00a0<\/p>\n Cernotech says the 5T will eventually land in South Africa, but cannot commit to a timeframe.<\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n
