In the US, Apple offers users a battery replacement for\u00a0$29, a reduction from the previous $79 price which is valid for the iPhone\u00a06 or newer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Apple apologised to customers after it confirmed last year it took some measures to reduce power demands &#8211; which can have the effect of slowing the processor on an iPhone when a phone\u2019s battery is having trouble supplying the peak current that the processor demands.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Apple says phones without the adjustment would shut down abruptly because of a precaution designed to prevent components from getting fried.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The iStore says owners of iPhone SE, 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7 and 7 Plus who suspect that their battery might need to be replaced should visit their website (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.myistore.co.za\/help-center\" rel=\"alternate\">https:\/\/www.myistore.co.za\/help-center<\/a>) to make a technical appointment from 11 January 2018.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThe customer\u2019s iPhone will be assessed in store, and if eligible under this program, will be sent for battery replacement.
