{"id":22285,"date":"2018-03-02T08:56:04","date_gmt":"2018-03-02T06:56:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2018\/03\/02\/nokia-brings-back-8110-banana-phone\/"},"modified":"2018-03-02T08:56:04","modified_gmt":"2018-03-02T06:56:04","slug":"nokia-brings-back-8110-banana-phone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/nokia-brings-back-8110-banana-phone\/","title":{"rendered":"Nokia Brings Back 8110 &#8220;Banana&#8221; Phone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News &#8211; 02-03-2018<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">HMD, makers of Nokia-branded phones, is bringing the Nokia 8110 back to life as a retro classic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Made famous by the Matrix, the 8810 4G affectionately called the \u201cbanana phone\u201d with its distinct shape, was a cutting-edge piece of tech when it was released back in 1996.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Verge report that while the Nokia 8110 which runs on the Smart Feature OS is a basic feature phone, you\u2019re not going to get access to the Android apps found on other Nokia Android smartphones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">However, HMD is creating an app store for the device, which will include Facebook so there\u2019s a chance other third parties might create their own apps for this.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Unlike the 3310, the 8110 will ship with LTE support across Europe, with dual-SIM versions available too.<\/p>\n<p>The 8110 features a 2.4-inch QVGA display and a 2-megapixel camera at the rear.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Inside, you\u2019ll find a Qualcomm 205 Mobile Platform processor, 512MB of RAM, and 4GB of storage.<\/p>\n<p>The notorious Snake Game has also been revamped and it has an impressive 25 days of battery standby.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Available in \u2018banana yellow\u2019 or black, the Nokia 8110 is set for release in May, costing \u00a369.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">No indication has been provided as to when or if it will be available in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FaizelPatel143\" rel=\"alternate\">Twitter: @FaizelPatel143<\/a>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News &#8211; 02-03-2018 HMD, makers of Nokia-branded phones, is bringing the Nokia 8110 back to life as a retro classic.
