17-05-2018<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A survey by electronics company Samsung has found that about 41% of viewers claim that watching documentaries is their favourite genre compared to other programmes, with Blue Planet II currently the most watched show of 2017 peaking with 14.1 million viewers<sup>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/sup><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With a plethora of streaming services and uncapped internet currently available, Samsung\u2019s recent survey also shows people are watching more television than ever, with a fifth of claiming to watch more TV now than they did five years ago thanks to on-demand technology and viewer\u2019s appetite for binge-watching.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to a MyBroadband survey of 1,587 IT professionals and tech-savvy individuals in South Africa, 73.85% of respondents said they were an online pirate, while 51.17% of respondents said they subscribed to a media streaming service<sup>.<\/sup><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The survey also showed that Netflix was by far the most popular streaming service in the country, with 84.85% of users signed up for a Netflix package.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The size of the television also seemed to be important to viewers with research indicating that 40 inches was the average TV screen size globally in 2016.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Samsung has constantly implemented breakthrough innovations in TV technology resulting in the Korean company selling a whopping 427 million televisions around the world.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FaizelPatel143\" rel=\"alternate\">Twitter: @FaizelPatel143<\/a>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News &#8211;
