{"id":26210,"date":"2019-10-24T13:31:50","date_gmt":"2019-10-24T11:31:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.radioislam.org.za\/wordpress\/2019\/10\/24\/listen-istore-think-ahead-reward-students-teachers-at-excellence-in-education-awards\/"},"modified":"2019-10-24T13:31:50","modified_gmt":"2019-10-24T11:31:50","slug":"listen-istore-think-ahead-reward-students-teachers-at-excellence-in-education-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/radioislam.org.za\/a\/listen-istore-think-ahead-reward-students-teachers-at-excellence-in-education-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"[LISTEN] iStore &#038; Think Ahead Reward Students &#038; Teachers at Excellence in Education Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Faizel Patel, Radio Islam News &#8211; 24-10-2019<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FaizelPatel143\" rel=\"alternate\">Twitter: @FaizelPatel143<\/a>)<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Education solutions company Think Ahead says technology should be embraced in teaching to spur students to be more creative.<\/p>\n<p>Think Ahead together with the iStore held their 12th annual Excellence in Education Awards in Melrose Arch on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>There were about six hundred entries from over fifty schools across nine provinces from Grade R to twelve.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Students were judged for their creativity, coding and photography skills among others.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The winning teachers walked away iPads sponsored by the iStore while each winning student was rewarded with a Beats headphone.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Think Ahead\u2019s Michelle Lissoos says the awards is a celebration of teachers and students who\u2019ve embraced the fourth industrial revolution in the classroom.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cWe\u2019ve taken Apple technology and integrated into their curriculum and the key skills in the fourth industrial revolution are creativity, coding computational thinking, problem solving.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">iStore CEO Chris Dodd says education is key to what iStore does.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cApple have always held education very close to their hearts.
